This has been a long week. It went by fast, but still felt long. I've been gardening up a storm and I'm finally seeing many of the fruits of my labor. I've been eating a lot of cucumbers and tomatoes, and the occasional zucchini. Soon, I'll have peppers and watermelon. And then later, broccoli and sweet potatoes. I can't wait to grow even more varieties of fruit/vegetables next year. Soon, I'm going to start working on writing a grant to expand the garden and start a farmer's market program through my work. Exciting stuff!
I also saw my other summer hobby, guitar, come to fruition (pun intended) yesterday. I had my first "gig" aka my Guitar I recital. It was not good, guys. My class had about seven people in it. Then last week, there were like five people. This week, I show up and there's one other guy. Eventually two other people came, but one guy couldn't stay for the recital and the other is a high school kid who said he was going to stay after and perform, but then missed the damn recital! So, it was me, one other guy, and my teacher. Another teacher joined in, too. We played "The One I Love" by R.E.M., which has a C chord in it, my "suck chord," meaning I suck at playing it. I did okay in class and when I was practicing quietly before the show, but during the actual show, I got nervous as hell. We were first to go and like I said, half of the class bailed, so it was me and one other guy. I started out not so great, but I ended strong, so that's good. Ugh. My mother, brother, and A.P. were there, too. Double ugh. Loved ones witnessed this misery, people! Here's a picture of the torture (and yes, those are my new glasses):
Other than that, this was a good week. I'm still healing both physically and emotionally from my crappy weekend, but I'm moving on. I'm also still daydreaming about vacations. So, of course, I couldn't help but feature this destination wedding. I'm not a big believer in destination weddings, but for daydreaming purposes, this stuff is gold! Shot by Iconoclash Photography, this wedding drips with gorgeousness and Italian countryside charm. I'm in amore! (Yes. I totally made that joke!) Ch-ch-check it out!
Doesn't that make you want to be an ass and have a destination wedding? (Sidebar: Yes, you're an ass if you have a destination wedding...that doesn't mean I don't love you or I won't attend, but it's soooo expensive to your guests who like to have vacations that don't revolve around weddings, ya know? Phew. Long sidebar.) I love the purple and pink flowers, too. So, so pretty.
So, I think this weekend we are going to possibly go to a flea market (which might mean convincing A.P. to wake up with me at like 6am on a Saturday), balance our budget, get some stuff done around the house, and go canoeing on Sunday. It might rain, so we're keeping our fingers crossed it's nice out. What ever are you up to, my little nutterbutters??
In the mean time, here are your dance moves for the week:

And since I didn't get to see the exhibit while I was in NYC, I guess I'll have to settle for the 2012 McQueen collection. Absolutely amazing, no?

Well done nonetheless, it's great you had the guts to go and do it when the others gave up!
ReplyDeleteOnly one thing to say on the amazing places to visit around the world link: I want to go to there.
ReplyDelete@Musing: Thanks! At one point I felt my hot, hot face. You would think it would have been easier for me, but it was pretty hard.
