I Will Dance With You

Another Friday dance, another week gone by! I've been overwhelmed with work (shocker) and never quite recovered from last weekend's craziness. So you all can imagine what I'm doing *this* weekend, right??? SLEEPING IN! What. Is. Up. It's going to be so kickass to not have to wake up early. Plus, on top of being exhausted, I had to wake up early a lot this week in order to take the bus to work since our car was in the shop. I'd forgotten how miserable public transportation was. What normally takes me 15-20 minutes by car, of course took me 30-40 minutes by bus. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. I was so cranky every day I showed up to work after riding that miserable bus. Good thing we have Susan (our car) back now and she's purring like a kitten.

Anywho, in honor of my guitar recital last night (more on that next week!), I am pleased to show you one of the cooler weddings I've spotted in a while! It's so rad it kind of made my head explode a little. It's a Johnny Cash themed wedding! What the what???!!!??? Yes. That's right. It's not only pure awesomeness, it's also pure rockabilly (in the best possible sense of the word)! Karey and Zak both loved music and Zak especially has a deep love affair with The Man in Black, so they had themselves a Johnny Cash wedding. And I have to tell you, it's so cool that it makes me want to be friends with these people. It's chock full of amazing details. Have a look, won't you?

Um, are there bits of brain everywhere? Did your head explode a bit? Cuz we all know mine did the first time I saw this beautiful affair. It's definitely one of those weddings I wish I had attended. It was not only amazing but it felt really personal. That's something I'm big on, for sure.

So, the weekend is upon us again and A.P. and I are excited to do some fun stuff again. Tomorrow night we are taking Rev/Rach to dinner to celebrate her birthday, which was at the beginning of the month (yes, we're aware it's almost the end of the month...lol). Saturday, we're thinking about finally getting it together and going apple picking. And Sunday, my dad is turning 83, which is pretty crazy. So, we'll for sure be celebrating that. All in all, it's going to be another jam packed weekend, but hopefully with more naps. Or at least more down time. What are you fabulous peeps up to this weekend? Whatever it is, have a wonderful weekend!

In the mean time, here are your dance moves for the week:

Love every single look here.

I was dying laughing over many of these buttons (and wishing I could purchase, like, all of them).

Who gives a f*ck about an Oxford Comma? YOU DO! (And here's why!)

Five minutes my ass! But I still want to learn how to do this.

I have no idea if I've posted this before (so I'm sorry if I have), but it's so great and helpful that I say why not post again (assuming I've posted it already)! 100 Photography Tutorials

Sometimes I wish A.P. baked. He could make me these!

I don't like to start thinking about Christmas this early, but wouldn't these be wonderful adorning your Christmas tree this year?

Dancing Across the USA

It's supposed to rain here tomorrow, Saturday, and Tuesday. Hopefully that means a bright and sunny 4th of July. I've been super lazy while on vacation, but before it flies by, I need to get some serious stuff done. I've got to get busy with some cleaning and other projects. I'm hoping to use the long weekend to get things going. I'm also hoping the rain means I don't have to go into work for a while, at least until Tuesday.

In honor of 4th of July, I'm presenting you with this bit of 4th of July wedding inspiration. Shot by Tinywater Photography, this gorgeous shoot is filled with lovely bits of Americana. I especially love the milk and cookie bar, with the vintage milk bottles! So awesome! It would be expensive, but totally worth it to replicate this idea. Plus, I bet if you spent time thrifting bottles on the cheap in lots on eBay, you could save some money and get it done for cheap. Yeah, do it!

So fun, right? Imagine if you were actually going to a wedding like that this weekend? How awesome! So many great ideas that are easily replicated in that shoot.

All this expected rain makes me think I'll also be staying in and practicing my guitar between cleaning/projects. I learned three new chords this week and two new songs. I was really struggling in class and I felt like there was a huge jump between class one and class two. My hyperhidrosis kicks into high gear during my lessons and practice, too, which is really frustrating. I'm hoping that as my confidence builds, it will ease. It has a lot to do with my stress/anxiety over keeping up. Luckily I'm not alone. I felt like she was going super fast for everyone, but it also forces you to want to keep up and learn fast. And it does get easier every time. So, now that my fingers are feeling a lot less sore, and a lot more used to it, though still not 100% normal, I'm hoping to practice a lot more.

Other than that, we're thinking about an impromptu road trip and a friend's housewarming barbecue on Sunday. Our actual 4th, we're looking forward to doing not very much, and just hanging out with each other. What are your plans this holiday weekend?? Whatever they are, here's hoping you have a safe and spectacular 4th of July weekend!

In the mean time, here are your dance moves for the week:

Love, love, loved this week's Motherhood Monday post on A Cup of Jo. I've already told A.P. that when he becomes a dad (with our child, presumably), I'm making him read this. He's off the hook till then.

What a versatile DIY wrap/scarf that takes less than five minutes to make and even a fool could do it (I'm referring to me, not you. Don't worry.)

Anybody else super psyched True Blood is back on? Eric and Bill are totally this.

I'm going to try to make this for my friend's pre-4th barbecue/house warming. I'm not sure if I'll use box mixes or dig up a good recipe. I'm inclined to dig up a good recipe and make it real fun!

Have I told you about my obsession with braids? Yes? No? Doesn't matter either way, I'm telling you again.

Check out this beautiful Reem Acra gown from her 2012 Resort Wear line. A-ma-zing! Imagine floating around wearing that!

My new Zazzle store. You know you want more crap you don't need.

Thank you to those of you who took my survey. If you still haven't, I would love you oh so much if you did! Click here. It's quick and painless.

I Could Have Danced All Night

Before I begin the Friday dance, I want to announce my photo a day project. Those of you who follow this blog know that one of my goals for 2011 was to do another photo a day project. It took me a little while, but I've finally come up with it! Announcing...stripes every day for the month of May! Basically, I plan on wearing stripes of some sort every day for the entire month of May. I am going to try not to repeat outfits, but I make no promises. You can track my progress here beginning on Monday. Now, on to the dance!

I know I should probably be covering the Royal Wedding or something, but I figured there's enough people in the covering that. So instead, in honor of my coming around to Florida, I've decided on a Florida wedding this week. Take that, U.K.! Ruffled featured this adorable, vintage wedding recently, and, yes, it made me fall in love with Florida a bit more. Who knows, right? Maybe by the time I'm 80, I'll live in Florida!

So beautiful, right? And don't you love that cake topper?? And her vintage fur wrap???

Alright, enough gushing. Here are your dance moves for the week:

I'm thinking about finally making some macarons this weekend. They're a difficult cookie to make, and I've failed a bunch in the past. I think I'll use these tips from this awesome new blog I discovered.

Have you heard of woading??

Check out this awesome use for your hubby's old ties. I bet you could DIY this!

I never did dare to make this cake, but I'm more tempted to give this beautiful rainbow cake a crack. It's pretty (and easy)!

Steal a pallet from behind a grocery store, and turn it into this!

Okay, okay, one reference to the Royal Wedding. Wouldn't it be cool if Kate Middleton had worn these shoes and had crowns like that for the kids at the reception?

Have a wonderful weekend!
