Barn Dance

It has been SO long since we danced, no?  This week was a bit of a blur.  It was also my last week of guitar class...and I didn't go.  I skipped class and my recital all because it's been weeks since I practiced and frankly, I was just too tired to go.  I'm sitting out the next session.  I want to relax a bit and focus on some other things.  I'll pick it up again in the summer.

Speaking of summer, I'm thinking about going on a diet in May.  Gear up for the summer.  I shit you not that the other day a coworker asked me if I'd gained weight since the fall.  Can you believe some people?  Soooo crazy!

Here's something that's only crazy in the sense that it's crazy beautiful!  Emily and Brandon got married at her parents' house, with a big, beautiful barn as the backdrop.  This gorgeous country wedding, photographed by Ken Kienow, is simple and rustic.  Check it out!

Is that not the most gorgeous, relaxed looking wedding?  The details were amazing, but it's not overly fussy.  I love weddings like that.  Effortlessly beautiful, even though you know it took a ton of effort.   : )

Le sigh...what are you up to this weekend?  I am trying to convince A.P. to go to this free market for a weekend date feature.  Other than that, I'm looking forward to some relaxing/possible Dexter episode watching. We've been on a roll the past few weekends and we're about half way through season 6...finally!  Whatever you're doing, I hope it's relaxing and wonderful!

In the mean time, here are your dance moves for the week:

Custom Tap Pants

My thoughts exactly on marathons

Where the fuck should you do your drinking?

For the Star Wars geek in all of us ladies

Wearing aprons outside of the kitchen?  What a cute idea!

Pretty prints like this would be so lovely in a bathroom, don't you think?

Pinata Cookies???  TOO FREAKING AWESOME!!

Dancing the Whole Way Home

It's been a few weeks since I did a proper Friday dance and I apologize for that. The thing is, I have my guitar lessons on Fridays. 9 times out of 10, I come home exhausted from the long day and the last thing I want to do is blog. Then, Friday rolls around and I feel guilty. It's a never ending spiral of shame each week. If I were more on it these days, I'd at least start the post earlier in the week since often times I know the wedding that I want to feature. Oh well, instead I'm being a part-time blogger.

This week's wedding is very apropos to the way I've been feeling lately. I've become a full on homebody unless forced to leave. Luckily, I'm forced to leave the house pretty often, so I'm not a true homebody. But people, the desire is there. I'm primed for homebody-ness. Clearly, this lovely couple loves being homebodies, too. They got hitched...at home. That's right! Michelle and Ryan got married at home, with their family and close friends and dog. The intimacy of this couple's wedding is so evident in every beautiful photograph by Kristen Marie Tourtillotte, too! Seriously, how awesome, right? If only we had a home big enough, I would have done the same.

Don't you love that last photo where they are looking at each other while Michelle pets their dog? So sweet! They just look so in love (and relaxed)! Such a sweet, sweet wedding!

So, this weekend I have another 3 day weekend. Jealous? I know. I'm an ass like that. Sadly, my good friends lost their father unexpectedly this past Tuesday. So, I will be in good friend mode, helping out at work to cover their duties and then heading to the wake/funeral. After that, I'm working. But my hope is that by Saturday night, I'll be done with work and I'll be able to relax, relax, relax the rest of the weekend. This includes, but is not limited to, watching TV, watching movies, grabbing dinner with A.P. and being...a homebody. What are you doing this weekend? Something way more fun, I hope!

In the mean time, here are your dance moves for the week:

Button earrings...and not in the way you're thinking

My new obsession!

The face symmetry of celebrities, or how Salma Hayek looks hot no matter what

Ever read Cooking Comically? It cracks me up sometimes.

Good news for my lifelong diet

Beautiful hanging lamp made from...coffee filters!

Plus five Not the Marrying Kind posts you may have missed in the past month or so...

Do you include children in the wedding?

I Want to Dance with Somebody

I am so happy this week is over. I've been going to bed at a reasonable hour every night (earlier than I normally do) and I am still exhausted every day. My job just takes everything out of me. Last night, my guitar teacher said I was awfully quiet to which I responded I was tired. I came home, ate dinner, and geared up to watch Project Runway All Stars only to fall asleep and miss the fashion show altogether. LAME! Luckily, the week went by fast and we're back to a weekend. And not just any weekend. A weekend free of commitments. That means lots of relaxing and doing nothing. Plus, today is an easy day at work, so I am going to bust my ass, get a ton done, and get out at a reasonable hour. Come home, do a couple of chores, and then relax, relax, relax.

This week's wedding (it's been a while since I've given you one, eh?) is so adorable. And the details? Oh, my! They are so, so perfect and well thought out. Lauren and Steve were married in the autumn and their wedding reflects the season in every way...down to the cake topper (which is awesome!). They DIY'd so many of the details that appear in these beautiful photos by Tray Photography. I thought I did a lot, but this bride thought of everything! Check it out!

Don't you love that cake topper? I almost want one just as an objet d'art for the house! And I love that the bride wore her glasses. So rad.

So, here's how I'm achieving maximum relaxation success this weekend: I'm eating leftovers of delicious meals I've been cooking all week long (no cooking), I'm watching a couple of movies from AFI's Top 100 list (part of my list for 2012), and I'm picking February's books and digging in. Either that or I'm sleeping all weekend and doing a whole lotta nothing. : ) What are you up to this weekend?

In the mean time, here are your dance moves for the week:

I still need to work on wearing my hair in a pretty style once a week. I'm looking for inspiration.
