I'm Happy Just to Dance With You
It has been an exhausting week! I'm winding down on work before my much needed vacation, and am putting together a list for all that I need to accomplish over my vacation. I'm also a bit sad. We transplanted a bunch of the squash plants this week, and then had a really bad storm yesterday which basically killed all but two of the plants. Good thing I have stunt squash in the greenhouse! I'll swap them in next week, assuming it doesn't rain all week like it's supposed to! Will this garden ever get planted people?? I wonder sometimes! We also put in some baby flower plants and some pumpkin plants. The tomatoes, which took a hit last week with a different storm (we lost one plant), are finally looking good, and the turnips and radishes in the hoop house are still thriving. I have some beet plants growing, but most of those seeds and the carrots were a loss. I am going to try again next week, but we'll see how it goes.
While this is my first time in a long time planting in a real garden instead of a container garden, I have to tell you that this has been one of the worst planting springs in a long time. It was constantly cold until a week or two ago, and now it's raining all the time and alternating between cool, sunny, perfect weather; humid, hot, disgusting weather; and pouring down rain. It's awful, and has made for an awful first year of this huge gardening project. I feel like I have a lot to prove, and I feel like I'm failing because of things that are out of my control. Surprisingly, my biggest concern (pests) hasn't really been an issue. Anyway, I will take some pictures next week and share with you soon.
In the mean time, I only have two more engagement shoot inspiration posts. I've been perusing a lot of wedding sites lately to find inspiration for our own (post-) engagement shoot. Two weeks ago, I showed you my bowling inspiration shoot, last week, it was my rowboat/picnic inspiration, and this week, we have another picnic, this time a bit more vintage in style. Katie and Jeff's adorable engagement shoot was shot by B. Wright Photography, two brothers who take such lovely photos. These images remind me of The Notebook, too, which make me really love them. Aren't these two adorable?
So beautiful! I wish we lived near a waterfall! Next week, I'll show you the final inspiration for our own (post-) engagement shoot. Then, in July, I'm going to show you some inspiration boards and tell you what I'm thinking we'll do. I think I've finally come up with a plan!
Until then, here are your dance moves for the week:
For a minute up there, I committed the ultimate sin and forgot the name of the movie The Notebook. I googled it, remembering it right away, but one of the results was the hottest thing ever. You must go watch this. Have fun cleaning your brains up from all over the floor! Because they're gonna explode!
Recently, in my pins, I got a little obsessed with Angelica Houston. She was so gorgeous!
Plus, check out this interesting post on a portrait of her mother!
I think I would have peed my pants if A.P. had done this to me.
The world's most disturbing wedding photos.
Beautiful Alice in Wonderland inspired baby shower!
Turn an old cabinet into a garden!
No sew scalloped shorts! Too cute! Rock a cute black pair with a pair of red espadrilles and a red and white striped nautical top!
We finally got our oven fixed and I'm thinking about baking these to celebrate! Maybe too labor intensive? What do you think?
Have you seen Bridesmaids yet? I'm obsessed with Kristen Wiig, both before this movie and after. Check out this fashion board inspired by her wardrobe in the movie!
That's all she wrote! Have a wonderful weekend! We're running errands and relaxing. What are you up to?

Would love to see some photos of your garden. It sounds HUGE!
ReplyDeleteLove that Alice in Wonderland theme - it would be great for all sorts of parties.
@Midge: I am so bad about taking pictures in the actual garden. I had to take a ton for my grant, but that's over with. I'll make a point to take a bunch this week and post some soon.
