Sweetheart Dance

Happy Friday, everybody! As you all read this, A.P. and I are on our way to NYC for a friend's wedding. I'm not super psyched. I'm sick. I'm tired. And Aunt Flo is comin' to town any minute, which is really killing my mood. And frankly, we're still frustrated at how much the whole weekend is costing us. But we will celebrate and have a good time (or die trying!). I will take lots of pictures so that I can show you how we look when we are not lazy and kick it up a notch.

Meanwhile, we've had an exciting week. Did you know our wedding was featured on The Thirty-Something Bride? Well, it was! And we couldn't be more thrilled. Thank you so much, Louise, for featuring us and for the sweet comments. For those of you who haven't seen it yet, feel free to head on over and take a look.

In honor of the NYC wedding and my Brooklyn friends who are getting married, I thought I would share with you this super adorable Brooklyn boathouse wedding that was shot by the amazing Tec Petaja (and one of my favorite wedding photographers)! I'm in love with this sweet bride! I adore her veil, her dress, and I LOVE that she's just wearing a band. How simple and lovely, no? Take a peek!

Wasn't that so pretty? I am so in love with the relaxed vibe of that wedding! Everyone seems so happy, but also calm, no?

This has been a whirlwind of a week, guys! I wish we could relax this weekend and do nothing, but this weekend aims to be pretty whirlwind, too. Hopefully at some point, we'll be able to take a breath or two. What are you up to this weekend?

In the mean time, here are your dance moves for the week:

Love this water balloon engagement session! What a fun idea!

Such a cute DIY paper banner. And it's a great idea that can be used for all kinds of parties, not just weddings: baby's birthday, congrats, etc.

What a sweet treat!

Laundry room lighting

Grownup pudding pops

A.P.'s favorite cupcakes at Sweet Mandy B.'s are snickerdoodle, so perhaps I will be needing to learn to make these bad boys (or go broke with trips to the bakery!).

And of course, the Marriage Role Model Series from this week's Marriage Monday.

And here are five posts you may have missed from July:

Dance, Dance, Dance

How about a little Friday dance, peeps?

My friend is getting married at this venue in August. I wish I was more psyched about the wedding, but at least the place looks cool, no?

If this is how you dress when traveling to Portland, then I guess I best get booking that trip. Fashion that is so right up your alley if you love plaid, relaxed, badass style.

Really digging this rustic driftwood lamp.

It's a nice day for a white wedding (inspiration post).

I wish I wasn't so busy with my real job, I'd apply for this job at Ruffled. I'm good at coordinating stuff.

Valentine's baking inspiration. That's right, the dreaded V-day is coming up!

I love you guys like A.P. loves insurance! Or your own nerdy version.

Finally, even though this is totally fake, wouldn't it be so sweet to take a little camping honeymoon? Tec Petaja shot this dreamy bit of honeymoon inspiration. If you're like me, you'll use this to while away the snowy hours this weekend.

Have a great weekend, folks!

A Real Wedding

Happy Friday! This has been a crazy week. On the one hand, my phone was stolen by someone at my job. On the other hand, I found out I won this grant I was working on for a long time! So...you win some, you lose some.

Anyway, It's been a while since I featured a real wedding on this blog. This is mostly because after my own wedding, I was sick to death of weddings. I still can't quite bring myself to even look at wedding blogs that I used to love, but still, some weddings are too good to pass up.

For instance, this gorgeous wedding shot by Tec Petaja. Catherine and Erik had a beautiful, rustic wedding in La Colle sur Loup, France. I've never seen a couple kissing in so many pictures and looking so stunning doing so. I don't know about you guys, but A.P. and I are not big into the PDA. Kissing so much in front of the camera at our wedding felt...strange. Guess I'll never be an actress, huh? But this couple makes all that PDA look...necessary.

Nothing Left for Me to Do But DANCE!

That's right...it's the return of Dance Fridays. Not that I'd really gone that long without them. This one is short and sweet. First of all...look at this photo:

Isn't it awesomely hilarious?? If you follow my twitter at all (and you should, in fact, just click here and make yourself feel better), you would know that at around 2:30 in the morning, I couldn't get enough of Awkward Family Photos. Entertainment Weekly featured the site in this week's issue, and then one of my favorite blogs, Avoision, had a post about it yesterday. Anyway, it's freaking hilarious. I could post so many more that had me dying laughing, but then this post might as well be a part of Awkward Family Photo's blog. So just go there...and die laughing. It'll make you rethink your shot list for your wedding!

Then for a more grounded photography experience, check out these two beautiful weddings. I love Jeremy Lawson's beautifully shot wedding (at University of Chicago! I love it!), and Green Apple's lovely hued wedding (via The Wedding Chicks).

Finally, in order to prove to A.P. that wedding planning is intensive and requires lots of time and discussion (that can't be done at the last minute), I made a list of all the things we will have to deal with. OH. MY. GOD. It's five pages long, SINGLE SPACED. I'm in over my head...I know I am. After all, even though our wedding will be our own, wouldn't it be nice if it were as dreamy and as beautiful down to the details as this fake wedding as featured by C. is for Charmed (there's that pesky blog crush again!). Who doesn't want a tree filled with memories??

Happy weekend, bloggers! Dance it up!
